After struggling through early motherhood with all the signs of mild depression and anxiety I decided to try and find ways to improve on my own health and well-being. To do this I started to change the way I lived day to day moving to a more natural and holistic approach, in doing this it lead me to changing many aspects of my life. I started my journey by practicing yoga, done daily this helped to improve my mental and physical well- being, along with this I have also made it my daily goal to move for at least half an hour a day whether it be a walk, jog or just general work outs. I also looked into the chemicals that were used around the household changing both our skincare and cleaning chemicals to more natural and clean versions of what they had been. In saying all this by far the best thing I have done for myself is take time out for ME! By doing this I have given myself the chance to become more at one with myself helping to get rid of the stress and anxiety in my mind. Meditation and gratitude journals have been my saving grace here, they have both given me a chance to find the true beauty that is life.
My own journey is not one of living a perfect holistic life, it is more of a time poor mother trying to navigate her way through a hectic and stressful world all while trying to do the best by herself, her family and her friends. Living a clean natural lifestyle as best I can all while having fun and letting loose occasionally.
